A new Australian travel series was recently in Fiji to capture Chef Lance Seeto’s highly acclaimed Fiji Asian fusion cuisine on Castaway Island, Fiji. The television show Explore will be screened on the Nine Network Australia in November 2013 and is expected to reach millions of viewers in its primetime slot. Host Trevor Cochrane and his crew dined on the celebrity chef’s 1808 menu which is based on the South Pacific diet of no gluten, dairy or eggs, and showcases the artisan cooking techniques of the traditional Fijian cooking. Chef Seeto was chosen as Fiji’s culinary ambassador for the television series, filming a gastronomy segment against the backdrop of the award-winning Castaway Island. Explore promises to show Fiji through different eyes, with an appreciation of culture, traditions and a way of life that is unique in the South Pacific.
